How do I plant my tree?

Step 1:

Make a planting hole twice the size of the tree's root ball/pot.

Step 2:

Break up the walls of the dug hole with the shovel.

Step 3:

Add a planting hole improver if required.

Step 4:

Plant the tree as high as it was in the container.

Step 5:

Make a raised border around the tree with soil for easy watering.

Step 6:

Place two tree stakes a 30cm from the tree and attach them to the stakes with natural binding material.

Step 7:

Clear a 1-metre diameter tree bed of plantings and keep it that way for the first few years.

Step 8:

During the dry period, water densely, on average 10 litres once a week. If in doubt, always contact us.

A planting leaflet is included with every delivery.

Advice:

The average walnut tree does not like a wet location, so make sure you plant it at a slightly higher spot in your garden so that the tree does not end up in a puddle of water during the winter.

Red Phantom

This Juglans regia ‘Red Phantom’ is a low-maintenance tree with few disease problems. It also gives a good production of tasty nuts. The colour of this walnut is reddish-fleshy and is therefore also widely used for processing. The Juglans Red Phantom will grow around 7-10 metres tall and has good production. The advice is to plant a pollinator with it, such as Juglans r. Franquette.

 

Quality note

The red nut is nicely filled, good for drying and long storage. The nut has an average length of 3.5 - 4 cm, and the flesh is red-fleshed. This beautiful red colour is retained after processing in dishes. Therefore particularly suitable for garnishing and/or topping various savoury and sweet dishes.This nut tree can grow up to 7 metres tall and has a good production. We recommend planting a pollinator such as Juglans r. Franquette.
