The Avellana Pendula blooms from January to March and showcases beautiful autumn foliage colors. This variety is deciduous and highly winter-hardy, making it well-suited to withstand harsh winters. Another ornamental hazel variety is the Te-Terra Red. With its striking red leaves, this tree stands out among the surrounding green shrubs and trees. The Te-Terra Red grows to a height of approximately 3 to 8 meters, again depending on its location. This variety blooms in February and March, is deciduous, and highly cold-resistant. In general, these ornamental varieties rarely produce hazelnuts, but when they do, the nuts are edible.
