How do I plant my tree?

Step 1:

Make a planting hole twice the size of the tree's root ball/pot.

Step 2:

Break up the walls of the dug hole with the shovel.

Step 3:

Add a planting hole improver if required.

Step 4:

Plant the tree as high as it was in the container.

Step 5:

Make a raised border around the tree with soil for easy watering.

Step 6:

Place two tree stakes a 30cm from the tree and attach them to the stakes with natural binding material.

Step 7:

Clear a 1-metre diameter tree bed of plantings and keep it that way for the first few years.

Step 8:

During the dry period, water densely, on average 10 litres once a week. If in doubt, always contact us.

A planting leaflet is included with every delivery.

Advice:

The average walnut tree does not like a wet location, so make sure you plant it at a slightly higher spot in your garden so that the tree does not end up in a puddle of water during the winter.

We have composed this mix of Pekanut, Walnut, Chinese date and Pawpaw trees in such a way that you get a guaranteed harvest by combining pollinators or just self-pollinating species. All these species can also be ordered separately in our webshop, where you will also find a detailed description of the trees. In the package you will find the following species and varieties:

 

-1 x Walnut Juglans regia Broadview 40-80cm Cont. 6 Liter.

This walnut tree is generally well self-pollinating, has a high fruit yield and stays somewhat smaller compared to other walnut varieties. This variety is one of the well-known varieties for nut production in Europe.

 

- 1 x Pecan tree Carya i. Pawnee 80-120cm Cont. 3 Liter.

The Pekanboom Carya i. Pawnee is one of the best varieties with fairly large nuts and a high yield in most of Europe. This tree is self-pollinating but we combine it with the Pekanboom Carya i. Western Schley as these pollinate each other better. It is a healthy tree that suffers little from diseases.

 

- 1 x Pecan tree Carya i. Western Schley 80-120cm Cont. 3 Liter.

The Pekan tree Carya i. Western schley is one of the best varieties that can withstand drought very well. The nuts are a bit smaller in size but very flavourful. This tree needs a pollinator like the Pekan tree Carya i. Pawnee. Besides, it is a healthy tree that has a very nice growth habit.

 

- 1 x Chinese Date Tree Ziziphus jujuba 100-150cm Cont. 10 Liter.

The Chinese date tree Ziziphus jujuba is a unique tree that produces smaller brownish dates. These dates are very healthy and the tree is also self-pollinating. In addition, its erratic growth habit is a beautiful feature in your garden.

 

1 x Pawpaw tree Asimina t. Sunflower 40-80cm Cont. 6 Liter.

The Pawpaw tree Asimina triloba Sunflower is one of the most widely planted Pawpaw tree because it is self-pollinating and has good fruiting. It also has stable growth and is hardy. The fruits are very tasty and healthy.

 

1 x Pawpaw tree Asimina t. Prima 1216 40-80cm Cont. 6 Liter.

The pawpaw tree Asimina t. Prima1216 is a variety that produces well and is also widely used for additional pollination of other varieties. The tree is also very hardy and suffers little from diseases.
