Ornamental Chestnut Trees
The Castanea sativa is also known as the "sweet chestnut." However, our ornamental chestnut trees are grown for their beauty, with little emphasis on their fruit. Their size, leaf color, and unique shape make them a must-have for an elegant garden design. These ornamental chestnut trees originate from Southeastern Europe.

The Stunning Ornamental Chestnut Tree
These trees bloom between June and July. Their green/brown fruits ripen in autumn but are not the main attraction. Hardy in winter, they withstand cold conditions with ease. Ornamental chestnut trees thrive in sunny locations but can also tolerate partial shade. They prefer airy, humus-rich soil. Heavy or calcareous soils are not recommended, but light sandy soils are ideal for chestnut cultivation. Additionally, the soil pH should be below 6.
During the growing season, chestnut trees require adequate water but can tolerate temporary droughts. Maintaining a balanced moisture level is essential—not too wet, but not too dry. These trees also attract wildlife, bringing an extra touch of nature to your garden.
